The Groupe de Recherche of the Académie Desprez is composed of the researchers and artists who work in the Académie Desprez. Lead by the Directeur des Recherches and the Responsable des Études, members of the Groupe de Recherche share their methods and their results.

The Groupe de Recherche's work is in priority intended for the Groupe de Soutien, before publications offer it a wider diffusion.

The Groupe de Recherche includes a scientific and artistic consultative committee; its members may supervise, advise and support the researchers and artists of the Groupe de Recherche.

Membership to the Groupe de Recherche, first requiring membership to the Académie Desprez, happens on invitation of the Directeur des Recherches. The membership categories are the ones of « membre sociétaire » and « membre d’honneur ».
