Support
requested from the Académie Desprez
Practical assistance
In order to help Rémy-Michel
Trotier realise this project, the Académie Desprez will start
by verifying the existence, or not, of good quality recordings
of the resonant machinery, for example: in the Archives of
Radio-Sweden, the Museum of Music, Drottningholms Slottsteater
itself.
If suitable recordings exist,
the Académie Desprez will try obtain the agreement of the
theatre or rights holders on these recordings in order to use
them and finance, possibly, the acquisition of rights by the
composer. Alternatively, the Académie Desprez will try to
obtain the agreement of the theatre management to enable a
recording to take place.
The Académie Desprez will
assist the composer in the organisation of recording sessions.
This concerns at least:
- choice of dates in
agreement with the direction of the theatre;
- search for local partners,
especially of a sound engineer, preferably an associate of
the theatre;
- practical assistance for
the rental of the recording equipment;
- search for accommodation in
Stockholm;
- welcome of the composer at
the theatre.
The Académie Desprez will
indicate to Rémy-Michel Trotier who is his main contact within
the team of direction at the theatre; this contact might be
consulted during recording sessions and will have to be
available during this period.
Actions to reduce the foreseen
technical budget
The estimated technical budget
(recording) breaks down as follows:
- Microphones (4 pairs)
- Numerical multitrack recorder
- Numerical console
- Supply
- Misc.
- Sound engineer (2 days)
The composer will bare these
expenses, but the Académie might intervene in various ways in
order to reduce the total amount. In particular, help with
recording equipment in the theatre, contact with a partner of
the theatre for recordings and negotiation of a preferential
fare, accommodation.
Travel grant
The composer asks the
Académie Desprez for a travel grant, in order to go to
Drottningholm and realise his project.
