Realisation Grant: Documentary Funds about
Naumann |
07/2002 |
Focusing on the sovereign's life and works, on his thoughts and actions,
the Programme aims to renew the approach of the "Gustave
III phenomenon" in his complex relationship to the arts of
his time. An important component of this complexity is the
opening of the artistic links that the Swedish King established
with other European countries: he succeeded in creating around
his own visions a national expression by merging talents coming
from abroad.
Following this plan, this project is offering a
first opportunity to explore the relations between other
countries than Sweden and France. By including Germany, the
Académie Desprez develops its European identity and reflects
better the original approach of the visionary King.
Starting in 2002, the task is the constitution of
a corpus of books, scores, recordings, iconographic documents
and a references database about Johan-Gottlieb Naumann, and,
more precisely, his work in Sweden.
This project will allow the establishment of a
method which can be transposed to further contributions. This
experimentation in a delimitated field could lead to the start
of a specialised documentation centre open to the Académie
Desprez' members.
